Answer to Down on the Farm with La Llorona:
Because everyone knows that La Llorona is only heard, and seen, crying for her children near rivers or steams. There are no rivers or streams located on most of the farms in West Texas, and I know for fact, because I've been to the farm belonging to Carlos's uncle, that there is not a river or a stream on his farm!

Answer to El Chupacabra in El Barrio de Guadalupe:
I was sure no one in my class was pretending to be El Chupacabra because the monster’s name in the letter was badly misspelled. I can see some people in my room getting one of the letters wrong, but the name in the letter had two letters wrong. Besides, the words “principle” and “principal” had been on a previous spelling test. Everyone, I mean everyone in my class knew how to spell the words, and we all knew the difference between the two words. A principle is what a person believes in and a principal is a person in charge of a school. If you look at the letter again, the person that wrote it starts it off by writing, “Dear Principle Esparza.” The use of the word principle is wrong, and it proves, once again, that whoever wrote the letter was not from my class. Thank goodness!

Answer to The Ghost of the Barrio's Library:
Because when the sun was going down the sun’s rays reflected off a piece of glass hidden among the bushes outside the library window. The sun had to hit the glass just right for the fantasma to appear. That’s why you had to be a very lucky person to have seen the fantasma of the library!

Answer to La Llorona's Ring:
Because in South Texas during the summer it gets hot and the sun is always shining. If Carlos had gotten La Llorona’s ring on his first day of vacation and never took it off the skin under the ring would’ve been much lighter, but it wasn’t. The skin under the ring was just as brown as the rest of his hand.
